Whether you're new to walking or running, pre-diabetic, diabetic, or simply looking to improve your overall health, the Commit to Fit: 8 Weeks-To-Ur 5K Program is designed just for you! At Sensible Health Initiatives (SHI), we believe in providing the tools and guidance to help you reach your fitness goals and transform your health.

This 8-week journey will help you prepare for the Dash4Diabetes 5K & 10K Walk/Run on Saturday, November 30, at Al Lopez Park. What better way to stay motivated than by setting a goal and working towards it? We’re here to make that happen!

Highlights of the Program:

- Personalized Guidance: Each week offers a new focus, from proper gear to injury prevention and mental preparation. Whether you're a beginner or getting back into fitness, we’ve got you.

- Gear Guidance: We’ll offer advice on running shoes, and nutrition, along with alerting you to group runs happening around town to keep you motivated and engaged.

- Health and Wellness Support: We'll provide resources that not only improve your running but also help manage diabetes and support your overall well-being.

- Motivation from Experts: We’ll share selected podcasts courtesy of Deb Voiles, founder of one of Tampa’s largest running groups with tips and insights that will prove helpful.

By the end of these 8 weeks, you'll be ready to tackle the Dash4Diabetes Walk/Run with confidence and a new sense of accomplishment.

Why Running (or Walking) is Right for You:

Running and walking are two of the best ways to improve cardiovascular health, manage weight, and reduce your risk of chronic conditions like diabetes. Even if you're just starting out, taking small steps now can have a big impact down the road.

- For Pre-Diabetics and Diabetics: Regular physical activity can help regulate blood sugar levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and lower your risk of complications.

- For Everyone else: Whether you’re looking to manage a health condition or simply improve your fitness, walking and running offer a wide range of benefits—from reducing stress to increasing energy levels.
